Journal 5: Compositional Tools

For this journal, there was three compositional techniques that I used for these photos which were rule of thirds, lead-in lines and framing.

This photo is using rule of because the tree is on one of the hotspots which is where the lines intersect. there is also one third of the tree and two thirds of the houses.

For this photo I used the rows of trees followed by the sidewalk as the lead-in lines. The trees also gradually get smaller as they are father away from the camera which gives it a cool effect because the trees are all the same size.

I used framing in this photo with the tree branches framing the tree in the distance. The tree branches made a good frame because they made the image look bigger than it really is when the camera is just really close up to the tree branches.
